I first met Leonardo in 2011 when he approached me about developing leadership projects in deprived urban settlements in Brazil. From an early age, Leonardo got to know people living in the favelas in Rio de Janeiro. He admired their human values, their creativity and their ability to re-invent themselves on a daily basis. Now living in Madrid, Leonardo is using his experience of working in business in Europe to build bridges between citizens living in favelas, global corporations and government. It takes vision, strong personal values, highly developed networking and communication skills, and determination to build successful working alliances across different sectors, cultures and continents. I'd like to say Leonardo learned all these skills from the LEAD Europe programme, but LEAD is only a part of Leonardo's leadership journey. I'm very happy to recommend Leonardo for his commitment to helping communities initiate and develop projects that create jobs and reduce poverty and inequality.

We enable the potential of every Organization to co-create solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by combining the power of business, science, technology, and on-the-ground real-life experiences. We co-create, prototype, and scale-up solutions that generate positive impact to both Planet and Organizations. I foster supportive and compassionate communities, and an environment for honest conversations based on dialogues of quality. I hope to help people develop their inner strength, resilience, and confidence; also driving advocacy and awareness for collective value generation through the establishment of authentic relations with communities. Managed and facilitated the co-designing and implementation of the experiential learning programme ‘Impact Centre’ - a Lab to generate value by promoting leadership and change towards sustainability, which was the cornerstone of university’s CSR narrative. Another key aim was therefore to co-create and implement innovative and sustainable business models by working closely with the University's stakeholders. At the same time we connected students with potential careers, raised awareness, built networks, brought visibility, and provided on-the-ground experiences for meaningful, sustainable and successful careers. Scope: Over 200 subsidiaries from more than 20 business sectors in more than 25 countries. I successfully trained and managed a team of 63 sustainability professionals. Major milestones include:-> Designed and implemented the transformation project 'Sustainable Supply Chain'. • Business Optimization & Change Management Project Manager
      • Jan 2001 - Jan 2007

Global Projects Direction (Reporting directly to the Directorate). Main objectives were to develop an unique organizational culture to the whole business group through the convergence with common projects, business process optimisation and best initiatives identification taking opportunity on sinergies.Main areas of managed projects:Sustainability, Strategic Initiatives, Client Orientation, Cost effective operations, Control Centralization, Increase and promotion of synergies in Telefónica's Group and Business Convergence (approximately 280 companies, 20 different business sectors), Direct participation in Bellsouth acquisition process by Telefónica Móviles (Movistar) and Business processes synergy projects with O2 and Telefónica’s Companies (focus on supply chain sustainability initiatives). Average Projects Budgets: From 1 to 6 millions Euros.* One innovative [at that time] and key success factor was to, literally, put down all the walls in order to connect all the teams under my responsibility in a unique space of safeness. I set up the offices in an "open plan" because I know the value of integration and working face-to-face, and the importance of facilitating the creation of systemic patterns through which each group can sense larger systems of the whole project. The unimpeded flow of information helped the success. Show less
