After working in many of our clinics in the PDX-metro area, I now have the opportunity to take my passion for training and teaching with the applied knowledge from being in the field. I have the great privilege of on-boarding, training, supporting new providers and associates. Setting them up for success is something I take great pride in.This role demands a flexible and creative approach to problems and projects that come my way. I have an amazing team of talented folks with whom I learn from and collaborate with. We strive to make our content more versatile and engaging in the ever-virtual world we find ourselves.Additionally, I create eLearning content from script-writing to video editing, and voice over to post-production. • Audio Technician
      • May 2016 - Jul 2018

I set up sound equipment, mixed live sound (including music and speaking), I worked directly with musicians to meet their EQ needs, and tore down equipment each Sunday for church services and special occasions. I started this gig with very little audio knowledge and was taught on the job in a small time frame. It was a challenge to pick up a new skill this quickly, but I learned how to master sound and efficiently set up the equipment to make the rehearsals and events run smoothly. I also enjoyed our yearly caroling set up at Jamison Square in Portland during the tree-lighting ceremony. It was fun to provide sound for an event the whole community could enjoy. Show less

I was able to help convert software for over 10 clients with multiple locations. I also was a project manager for a team, which was a challenge because it was the first time leading a team of my own. I also worked in the plant to prepare distributions with the drop-specific paperwork with drivers took with them. • Steel Mill Worker / Visual Inspector
      • May 2012 - Aug 2012

In the short time I was here, I worked in two different departments on contrasting portions of the steel pipe fabrication process. I started with the milling crew whose task was to make sure the exact specifications of size and depth were met as the flat slabs were pressed into pipes. Debris was discarded to not adversely affect the quality of the pipes. After I was shown to be adept in my primary role, I was given the opportunity to work on the other end of the process as a visual inspection, whose role was to make sure the completed pipe going out to the yard passed a strict QA. I enjoyed this role because it was more focused on the minute details and required precision and accuracy. Show less

I was responsible for receiving, counting, sorting, packaging, and shipping a variety of parts and machinery to clients across the world. This process required a good amount of accuracy, especially during the receiving process where all the parts needed to be counted before they could be packed and shipped off. I was also responsible for driver to each of our local vendors each week to pick up our orders which would be taken back to the distribution center for processing. I really enjoyed the packaging portion of the job, as I got a chance to use my meticulous detail to make sure everything was protected appropriately and packaged efficiently. It was a very fast-paced role and we never had a dull moment. Show less

This was another interesting and stretching experience working varied roles, two of three were new to me. I began my Nordstrom journey as a Customer Care Representative at the front end point-of-sale, processing all transactions. I then transferred to Loss Prevention as an agent, my first new role; where my primary duty was to assist the team in looking for and tracking potential theft in the store. I was on the floor and communicated effectively to the team in our office as developments progressed. I performed security audits at the end of the day upon store closing. I assisted in the arrest of a known shoplifter. The second new role was in the Shoe Department, assisting customers, managing inventory, and performing department quality checks throughout the day. This was such a special experience in my career, as I was part of the last crew who saw the store closing across many locations. In my time here, I worked as a Guest Services Representative at the point-of-sale, assisting patrons on the floor, working in the Music Department (my favorite part of the job), ran closing and opening checklists, and performed accounting tasks at the end of each day. In my time here, I worked at many locations and was flexible to the needs of the company, going wherever I was needed. I also helped close down the stores, liquidating all inventory for several of our flagship store in Portland, OR. *I came back to work for the company after my stint in the US Navy. Show less

When I came back from my time in the Navy, I came back to Starbucks, where I grew to become a Shift Supervisor. I found the position to be both interesting and at times stretching. I was responsible for making sure the store was running smoothly, our baristas were well-taken care of, tasks were delegated, and taking care accounting processes for tips. I also worked as a Barista concurrently, I loved being on the bar, especially when it got busy. It felt like you were flying! Making drinks, communicating with your coworkers, talking to customers: once you got in the flow, you felt like a coffee wizard! Show less

I had the honor to enlist in the US Navy. I went to Basic Training to become a Seaman. Training was intense but incredibly fulfilling. Unfortunately, I was unable to graduate due to a medical condition which prevented me from continuing. During my time there, I was involved in a specialized division who got the pleasure of performing during the graduation (I was in the choir), for which you had to audition to be included. I was also a section leader and performed mail services for the entire "ship." Show less
