Tero Vihavainen
From the beginning of 2017 Petri worked 18 months in my unit at SSF. He participated to several classified projects in the defence sector. As a systems engineer, his main duties were analyzing customer's avionic systems containing Safety of Life (SOL) components, creating Failure Mechanism and Effect Analysis (FMEA) reports and applicability report of the related maintenance tests procedures. Regardless, of his trainee status in the team, Petri showed a great self-confidence and excellent skills in various technology areas like mechanics, hydraulics, electronics and software engineering as well as in avionics in general. Petri received also a lot of positive feedback from the customer's system specialists. I can highly recommend Petri for positions fitting his interest areas and education. He is really easy to work with and has good teamwork skills. From the team leader point of view, Petri is versatile employee who doesn't hesitate to face new challenges or take responsibilities. He is very trustworthy, effective and has a high work morale as well as a good sense of humour. One notable quality of his was the adaptivity to different situations, work tasks and colleagues.

Petri worked in my project (UPCD planetary Mars drill) during 2016 and 2017. His work consisted of SW and documentation, later also specification work about interfaces and system&SW failure modes. Petri rose into crucial role in our project, mainly due his ability to analyze the tasks and suggest his own improvements and methods to improve our design. The UPCD was about a space mission to Mars, where a robot lander would autonomously drill and sample Martian soil. Thus it goes without saying, that the system was very complicated both mechanically and of SW complexity. Petri did his job in true expert fashion, and later was requested to be part of several other SSF's project because of his skills in various engineering domain.
