Scholes joined our project at Alcatel-Lucent based in Naperville, where I was the technical lead for a project that was changing the hardware platform for existing FPGA applications. After training on location, he worked remotely, joining our team of circuit lab testers for 3 different FPGA applications, and mentoring other testers as they joined the team. Not only did Scholes quickly fit into our project team, he was able to become a proficient tester very quickly. He helped to convert over 300 tests to run on the new platform, and wrote new tests as well. He updated old documentation that he found faulty, and helped to write new test descriptions and c-code, and to review descriptions and code written by others. He became an expert on the specifics of the different applications, and was quickly able to help debug the RTL code for the problems he found while testing. Despite the distance and time differences, Scholes was able to be an effective team member. He is a quick study and very detail oriented. He would be a great asset to any team.
