My research is mainly focused on Urban Economics. How do people cluster together in cities, what is the influence of entrepreneurship, how do changes in infrastructure affect the places in which we live and work? In my research, I use economic modeling grounded in rich microdata on all Dutch citizens and firms. Next to my research work, I initiated and oversaw the introduction of a bureau wide knowledge wiki (Confluence), extended and maintained by researchers and staff alike.
