I had the privilege of working with Uriel for four years from 2018 to 2022 when he was the Production Manager at Velocitek. During this time Velocitek transferred the assembly of our three main products from a Chinese contract manufacturer to our own facility in San Mateo, California. Uriel’s leadership, dedication, resourcefulness and steady temperament were critical to our success in navigating this lengthy and challenging process. I will be forever grateful for Uriel’s rock-solid dependability and willingness to shoulder responsibility and show leadership in challenging and overwhelming situations. Uriel applied the fundamentals of lean manufacturing to continuously improve our manufacturing processes to improve productivity and eliminate defects. He often used common sense and good judgment to find simple solutions to problems that we could implement quickly and at low cost. Uriel was also very effective in teaching the fundamentals of lean manufacturing to the assembly technicians that he supervised and inspiring them to make continuous improvements to the processes they were involved in. What I admire most about Uriel is that he is scrupulous in treating everyone with respect, irrespective of their role. Whether it was in interactions with our customers, vendors, employees or members of our local community I always had 100% confidence that Uriel would take care of business and solve problems while maintaining good relationships with the people involved. Uriel’s strong interpersonal skills allow him to work well with and lead teams made of people with diverse backgrounds and skills. For example, coordinating between a customer service representative, an automation engineer and an assembly technician to find and eliminate the root cause of a manufacturing defect. Uriel is a man of many talents and this was a great asset in a small business like Velocitek; in addition to taking care of his responsibilities as Production Manager, Uriel also did an excellent job in some creative roles. He selected new color palettes for our products and oversaw and contributed to the design of the retail packaging for all of our products. He also successfully completed several website design and software UI / UX design projects.
