The George Hull Centre for Children and Families is one of Ontario's leading multidisciplinary, innovative children's mental health centres. My primary focus at GHC was my clinical work with the Intensive Services, specifically the Boys House, a long term residential treatment program serving young men and their famillies, and the adolescent Day Treatment program. On occasion I also worked with Community Clinic clients. - Engaged in child and family therapy with clients of the Intensive Services (Residential program and Day Treatment program), supporting some of Toronto, Canada’s most at-risk young people and famillies. - Treatment was informed by a thorough assessment of a family’s strengths and needs, with particular attention paid to attachment and relationship concerns, trauma, and intergenerational mental health issues. A thoughtful formulation was shared with clients and treatment goals were made collaboratively. - Provided leadership on multidisciplinary staff teams by clearly articulating a clinical direction for each client and supporting the teams to translate that direction into their front-line work. - Supported youth and caregivers in community settings, including in schools and with child protection, to ensure that all service providers were working in the best interests of the youth. - Provided thorough Case Management for each client ensuring that as many of the child’s and family’s needs were understood and supported by an interdisciplinary team of service providers. - Created and facilitated an interactive, psychoeducational group for parents of teens.

Camp Simpresca is a residential summer camp located in Penetanguishene, Ontario. Over the summer of 2014 Camp Simpresca welcomed 485 campers and employed 30 staff members. - Recruited, interviewed and hired summer staff members as well as volunteer First-Aiders. - Oversaw the daily operations of camp; staff and camper well-being, property maintenance and repairs, communication with parents/guardians, camp programming etc. - Directly supervised four senior staff members, and indirectly supervised twenty-four counselling and program staff; providing regular feedback, evaluation and support as needed. - Supported staff working with high-needs campers to develop their skills in pro-active behaviour management. - Supported staff and campers when it was necessary to report to child welfare agencies, and worked collaboratively with these agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of campers. - Ensured adherence to policies and procedures by staff and campers at all times, including regularly practiced Emergency Procedures. - Acted as the primary contact between camp and the surrounding communities of Penetanguishene and Midland, including the Fire Department, Health Unit, and Children's Aid Society. - Worked in partnership with the volunteer First-Aiders, the Head Chef, the Property Manager and the Board of Directors.
