      This health club started with a trailer in the parking lot and an idea planned over 16 months. I was a major role in every decision made from designing the company logo, choosing equipment and layout, planning the group class schedule, hiring employees, choosing company uniforms, helping pick the colors of the facility, including in overseeing general contracting and construction, planning the marketing approach and following through with radio, print, and all local advertising. I also hired and scheduled the staff and trained them with an employee handbook I wrote. Developed the staff in the sales process and incentives of the commission structure. This club chain grew to three facilities including Shelton, Fairfield, and New Haven, CT. In this role I was also the director of personal training and hired and instructed the trainers. I implemented a software program for the training sales process and oversaw the program in each facility. The Fairfield property was then sold to a bank developer and the locations in Shelton and New Haven then merged with the largest chain in Connecticut, Planet Fitness.
