  This is my first local experience in the US. It has been all good for me. I assist the Associate Vice Provost at HS-MACA, managing her calendar, preparing presentations and documents, writing letters of support and recommendations for students, faculty, and grant applications, preparing sketches for several grants and engagements for the AVP, grant key players, coordinating with staff and assisting in programmatic and administrative tasks. I represent the AVP in several meetings. I joined several high-stake meetings, took minutes, and reported to leadership, including my recommendations and analysis of certain cases and situations affecting our department and community. I do the account reconciliation at the end of each month and report a summary of transactions to the Business Office. I purchase supplies, books, and other necessary resources and do the inventory to ensure we have enough supplies and have no oversupply. I supervise our work-study students, assigning them tasks and coordinating their hiring, evaluations, and compensation with the Student Employment Office. I also assisted in our office publications and book project, managing, editing, formatting, and coordinating all work details and submissions with the publisher. I managed and coordinated Diversity Dialogue by working with the team, setting up the schedule and facilitators, invitations, and evaluations. Show less
