Communications Coordinator- Northern N.S.W.
-
Aug 2009 - Oct 2015
I lead and work with a small, efficient team of technicians. We construct, maintain & commission Essential Energy's communications network (predominantly 2-way Radio and SCADA with some telephony thrown in)Our latest big achievement has been the installation and commisioning of high speed microwave links in the Lismore/Mullimbimby area, and we're now spreading these down around the Port Macquarie to Bulahdelah areas. This has been a massive learning curve for the team, as there is quite a difference installing large scale microwave dishes as opposed to the smaller antennae we are used to!

Responsibilities/Achievements: Installation/maintennance/repair of all of Country Energy's Communications Infrastructure, including large & small Telephone Systems & Call Centres, 2-way radio network, data network, and structured cabling inc. Cat 5, co-ax and Optic Fibre. At the moment my area of specialty is with the Nortel Phone systems paired with Nortel's Symposium Call Centre Server used for running major call centres. During my time in this position I have been involved in creating & maintaining CE's Virtual Contact Centre, consisting of 4 geographically seperated contact centres. Each site runs a Nortel CS1000 PABX and supports Nortel Symposium Contact Centre 5.

Resposible for all of the company's communication infrastructure. We looked after 2-way radio networks (inc. voice and SCADA) Data Networks, Structured Cabling, and the Companies many Telephone Systems. A highlight of my time here was being a key technician in the replacement of CE's VHF 2-way system with a UHF radio system. This included mobile radios as well as links/bases and antenna systems on towers that are mostly located on mountian tops.
