It is my pleasure to write that Dr Anurag Varshney has worked with me at Daiichi Sankyo India Pharma Private Limited, Gurgaon, India. For last several years, Anurag-san has been co-leading the Toxicology function at Daiichi Sankyo and overall in-charge of in-vitro Tox laboratories. Cardio-toxicity, Geno-toxicity and cyto-toxicity set up are the core area of the in-vitro Tox laboratories. Several in-vitro Assays were developed, validated and implemented under the able leadership of Anurag-san. He designed and managed these toxicological experiments, interpreted results for easy understanding by medicinal chemists and team biologists. Anurag-san also responsible for conducting in-vivo Tox studies at External CRO sites. He managed and maneuvered the CRO extremely well; and conducted 30+ Tox studies in rodents and non-rodents. Study planning, intimation, designing, data review and harvesting for Top line results were central role for Anurag-san. He was also the non-clinical safety in-charge in Daiichi Sankyo Global Project Team and contributed significantly from overall drug safety perspective. By PhD and Post-doc training, Anurag-san is an electro-physiologist and has excellent expertise in Safety Pharmacology. He has been leading the teams for long and has displayed good managerial skills. Anurag-san has exemplary written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills. I fondly call him my English-teacher! I am confident that Anurag-san would add lots of value(s) in the teams, wherever he chooses to work. He is one of the rare talents that our industry has! Please do not hesitate to contact me, if you need more information.

I have known Dr. Varshney since June 2013 when I joined Daiichi Sankyo India Pharma Private Limited, while he has already being working at the Daiichi Sankyo India since 2010. He worked as the Head of Molecular Technology and Protein Engineering and supervised 10 scientists. He and his group cloned many drug target genes such as enzymes and receptors, generated and purified the drug target proteins, established cell lines expressing the genes of interest, and develop assays for drug screening. Dr. Varshney has developed extensive understanding in electrophysiology, molecular biology, pharmacology and biochemistry. Moreover, he is one of the most advanced scientists for electrophysiology, especially in patch clamp techniques. He developed assays for medical safety using the patch clamp devices, trained junior scientists and contributed a lot in safety pharmacology in Daiichi Sankyo India. Dr. Varshney has strong leadership qualities and a good personality. He was successful in generating a functional and productive group where group members worked very hard at their own initiatives. He and his group contributed a lot to drug discovery activities in Daiichi Sankyo India.
