Galen is a superb teacher and helped me immensely while I was a student at Dev Bootcamp. Her ability to communicate key points effectively and memorably as well as her knowledge base set her apart as a mentor. In her role a teaching assistant, Galen worked with us in both group and one on one situations. She moves easily between the two, balancing structure and individual guidance. Galen enjoys a challenge and was not daunted by any of our questions or programming quirks. Her expertise in JavaScript and Ruby is very strong, and her past teaching experience was obvious as she worked with us to solve even the most challenging problems. It was truly was a pleasure to have the opportunity to learn from Galen. I would be honored to work with her in the future.

Caring, Fun, attention to details, and helpful are all words that people use to describe the "perfect co-worker." These are also all words I would use to describe Galen Cook. Galen and I worked on a team of five program directors the summer of 2011. I would say I spent a good deal of time conversing with Galen, due to the fact that all of our areas seemed to intertwine with each other. As a co-worker, Galen was able to see the bigger picture in all situations. She was a great sounding board for ideas. Galen is also a very dedicated worker. She was always the first in the office and the last to leave. Galen was a great co-worker and it will definitely be different with out her around. As much as the staff loved Galen, the campers loved her even more. There was hardly a minute that passed that a child wasn't running up to tell her something, hanging off of her, or sitting down and having a meal with her. Galen's fun-loving nature shined with the children!
