Bio
Roberto Lazzaroni
Manuel has just completed his PhD in our research group, the Laboratory for Chemistry of Novel Materials at the University of Mons, Belgium. As the head of the group, I very highly appreciated Manuel's work. He pionneered a totally new subject in our group: the modeling of gelation processes. To do so, he had to design and implement a new modeling strategy, with no strong internal background available. That new approach turned out to be very relevant and efficient, with one paper already published and a second one being submitted soon. As a young researcher, Manuel has built a strong expertise in the modeling of self-assembly and crystallization processes, along with software development skills. He is open-minded, always ready to learn and eager to interact with his fellow theoreticians as well as with colleagues doing experiments (his PhD was a joint thesis with the group of Laurent Bouteillier in Paris, where the experiments corresponding to Manuel's simulations were performed). As a person, he has a most enjoyable personality and is very highly appreciated by all his colleagues, junior and senior. I therefore strongly recommend Manuel for any position requiring skills in theoretical chemistry and computer science in general. best regards Prof. Roberto Lazzaroni
