If you have the opportunity to work with Massella in any capacity, my heartfelt recommendation to you is: do it! I had the honor of reporting to Massella at Warby Parker, where I experienced her unparalleled leadership skills first hand. Since then, I've watched her hone her expertise as a teacher and mentor and expand into helping others become leaders in their own right. Massella is an example of what true leadership is, and I look forward to seeing how many more lives she will impact as positively as she did mine.

I had the great honor to work with Massella for several years at Squarespace. We were both fairly new team leads but motivated. Massella always kept the group grounded, pushed for what was fair for our teams and was motivated to keep growing within her role. Massella was a great team lead because she showed her team kindness and firmness at the same time. She championed to see her direct reports succeed in their roles and took on project to help grow our department. Outside of work Massella has continued to be an amazing person to talk to when it comes to my own personal career. Massella has an amazing way of listening to you, making you realize your own self worth and validates the value you bring to your organization. Working with Massella is wonderful because has a strong head on her shoulders and a huge heart.

In my primary role as a people manager, I was committed to both talent development and employee engagement within the Customer Operations business unit. My first goal was to improve the employee experience by increasing ease and access to regularly used product and policy resources, which ultimately optimized the customer experience. Next, I focused on a way to benchmark and measure employee productivity, customer experience and service level agreement by utilizing Zendesk. The results of this benchmarking analysis were used to develop best practices training and support documentation. Additionally, this created an opportunity to give consistent and systematized recognition to team members, which improved growth opportunities for high performers, and supported overall team retention. Within 6 months of my role as a Customer Experience Associate, I was promoted to be a Lead. In my new role, I managed a team of 12 associates to be high performers. They consistently exceeded their expected metrics for calls, emails, and chats. Additionally, I managed competency tracking for a team of 90 associates, with the goal of benchmarking employee productivity trends, making the data more accessible to other managers, and creating an employee growth program, which awarded team members for hitting productivity targets. Each week, I reported statistics and trends to be used in coaching conversations with other managers and shared with senior leadership. Beyond the data, I began to foster my passion for talent development by creating workshops to support soft-skill growth for my growing team. Show less
