Bio
Rich Howard
Jim has a deep understanding of the social, economic, and environmental issues involved in affordable housing development. He took the risk of developing a Brownfield and was able to obtain government grants to supplement Habitat for Humanity East Bay's donated funds. This paid off in 54 units of affordable housing in the Edes Avenue area, which benefitted in so many ways from the finished project. Jim has the ability to focus on the end goal of providing affordable housing within budget and schedule constraints while nurturing positive relationships with all people involved - from federal, state, and local government agencies to nonprofits, the local community, and consultants. Working with Jim as a consultant to HHEB was a rewarding experience and one of the most satisfying of my consulting career.
Jack Blake
It has been great working with Jim to make a difference in the East Ocean View community. I look forward to working with Jim to help this neighborhood reach its potential through consistent personal involvement & commitment. His ability to see past the current conditions & potential obstacles is very refreshing. Too often we convince ourselves the expectations are too high or it is too much work instead of focusing on the goal. His optimism is contagious!
