Kevin Doyle
I worked with Franko Roberts when we were members of the Management Team responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Cement Australia's Cement Manufacturing facility at Railton, Tasmania. Franko's role was responsible for the Health, Safety and Environmental aspects of the operation which is one of Australia's largest Cement Manufacturing facilities and included a 2.3 million tonne per annum Limestone Mine and and a shipping terminal at the Port of Devonport. With over 130 permanent employees plus contractors and being the only significant industrial facility located in the pristine countryside of North West Tasmania there were plenty of challenges in this role which Franko carried out diligently and always in a professional manner. One of Franko's major strengths was his practical, down to earth, no nonsense approach which resulted in him building excellent rapport with his peers and the workforce as whole. He brought to the role a mix of skills and experience which were ideal for managing the high risk activities, both from a Health and Safety and an Environmental perspective, associated with a Cement Manufacturing operation. From a personal point of view I really enjoyed working with Franko. His good humour and direct no nonsense approach to problem solving made him a valuable contributor to the team dynamic I would have no hesitation in recommending Franko for any roles you maybe considering where you are looking for am experienced manager with a bright personality, team player and the ability to deliver on business outcomes.
