Nelinet is the regional library network for the 5 state region. We host library Open-Source applications for schools, libraries and government organization in the 5 state region. I worked with regional libraries as well as designed and implemented a SAAS open source solution for libraries in our region. Using RHEL 5/6 and ESX 4/5 I was also involved with designing and setting up the Nelinet website. by converting it from a static/java based system to Drupal 5 and 6. Owner
-
Oct 1993 - Mar 2009
Internet Service provider. I owned this company. This business provided web services for many NH towns as well as dialup and DSL services for up to 2600 subscribers through the 1990's and early 2000's. It was a 'one man' shop. I wrote an ISP billing system and system monitoring system (ISPBILL and Syswatch respectively). These were sold to other ISP's over a 10 year period. Syswatch ran BASH scripts, customizable, that checked services, machine reachability, disk and memory usage remotely. An early 'all-in-one' monitoring system written by me) ISPBill was a billing system that allowed an ISP to run a full system that integrated stats generated by SysWatch for user billing. It included payment plans, monthly billing, installments, credit card processing, etc. This was a part-time job as I worked other places at the same time. Show less

IT Manager

1998 - Jun 2001
I was the IT Manager there. This company was the first messaging company in the country to send messages to users about flights, telemarketing, etc. We maintained over 2 racks of equipment to do the analog dialout over T3 lines to users. This was all stored at a colo facility. Customers setup thir messages using a website or an API. I designed the entire colo setup and network facilities for this operation, which consisted of 50+ 1U 'pizza' rack systems running Windows server. The company was originally named 'Messageblaster' Show less
