I am a Professor of contemporary Spanish and Latin American literature and film. My research deals with how writers and filmmakers have rendered visible the arduous process of coming to terms with the effects of 20th century dictatorial violence in Spain and Chile. As a professor, I teach introductory to advanced level courses that integrate language, literature and film. My approach to teaching emphasizes critical thinking, interdisciplinarity, and active learning. I am a Professor of contemporary Spanish and Latin American literature and film.
