  Fixed longstanding hard-to-debug issues with Assurant’s flagship Pocket Geek Mobile app for iOS that caters to multiple cellular providers for insurance claims, policy management, and data collection. Fixed a difficult to diagnose issue receiving background wake-ups by optimizing CPU, GPU, and other power drain culprits using profiling tools – required Core Animation optimizations, memory leak fixes, and monitoring network traffic. Worked on a Diagnostic Alerts and Metrics library used for Pocket Geek Mobile for Android (MVP architecture) and similar functionality in the iOS app (without a library). The iOS functionality was written in Objective-C and Swift, later migrated to React Native. Utilizes APNS silent push notifications for CSR dashboard functionality, GCD for handling tasks, and UIKit with CoreGraphics. Led a research project with the goal of promoting troubleshooting content from our mobile app in Spotlight search. Helped scale the Pocket Geek Mobile app with my well-researched stance in regards to React Native adoption. This helped motivate existing employees and newcomers to become more versatile. We’ve been able to build and maintain most client-requested features in fewer codebases. Worked on an initiative to reduce QA manual testing through research and piecemeal trial of automated end-to-end testing with a tool called Detox. The goal was to reduce existing manual testing scope, giving QA engineers more time to test new changes. Worked on a new hardware diagnostics library product for both iOS and Android used for insurance claim decisions. This library wraps vendor libraries for the sake of providing a streamlined API for clients in order to cut costs of manual implementation. Show less
