Carl has worked incredibly hard to achieve excellent grades, he has taken a pro-active approach to his work and overall is a model student for the Computing department at Blackpool and The Fylde College and he would be a credit to any company that employs him. Over the past four years, I have had the pleasure of teaching and mentoring Carl, he is an incredibly hard worker and more importantly, he is a team player. I am particularly impressed how he has supported his fellow peers in his group, no problem is ever too much trouble for him and he has great patience and the ability to explain complex subjects to his peers in a manner that they can understand, this is a great skill.

As part of the Level 7 PGCE programme I studied at Blackpool and The Fylde College, I undertook a 300 hour work placement at the institution. I worked within the Computing and Digital Technologies department at the college and taught on a range of different courses in both Further and Higher Education. As part of my placement I was also expected to observe in functional skills English and Maths classes, and throughout the placement I took the lead in a number of these sessions. A part-time role working on the fresh food counters, preparing goods for customers across all 5 differing food counters. The role was undertaken purely as a financial support while finishing my degree at Blackpool and The Fylde College but unfortunately came to an early end, due to company restructuring and a reduction in the food counters service at Blackpool Extra. I found this role a challenge and really defined me both personally and professionally. This role also gave me more confidence for the future aim of becoming a teacher as I had to lead training sessions, which involved standing in front of ranging numbers of colleagues and delivering both legal and in-house training to them.
