Special Election after 2018 midterms for the state senate district 6 seat in East Harris county. 8-10 hours of voter contact through texting, calling, and canvassing. Had 10% higher voter turn-out from previous midterm year and won the election. Used VAN, miniVan, Hustle texting services, and nation-builder. Organized and recruited volunteers throughout the community and conducted trainings. Organized thousands of volunteers across Harris County to talk to more voters than any campaign in Texas history. The Beto Field Team successfully organized a massive grassroots effort that knocked over 3 million doors, made over 20.8 million calls, and had over 1.39 million conversations with voters at the door and over the phone in the year leading up to the 2018 Midterm Elections. Managed several offices in the NE part of Houston and hosted volunteers in politically ignored neighborhoods like Kashmere Gardens, Settagast, and 5th Ward. Encouraged and informed low-income and minority voters to participate in local elections which lead to a 11% increase of voter turn-out in these areas. Show less
