For my master thesis I developed a container and VM virtualization system for a bare metal environment using LXD. This project was aimed to be put in use in a production environment upon completion.Puppet was the IaC tool used to configure infrastructure related aspects of the developed system, decreasing human interaction during the configuration process and thus decreasing the amount of human induced errors.Server clustering was also resarched and developed on for this project. Coupled with the Ceph storage backend it dramatically increased service availability and data safety by replicating the data through a network of multiple nodes.To allow the system to be used by users of all backgrounds, a graphical interface was adapted for the project's use case.
