Bio
Ronald Miller, Jr., Ph.D.
I had the honor of offering Mr. DuBose career coaching during his senior year at Francis Marion University; my only regret is that I did not get to know this honorable gentleman earlier in his enrollment at the University. Indeed, in my 20 years of work in higher education, 6 of which have been directing a University Career Development Office, I can state with confidence that Mr. DuBose epitomizes scholarly, professional diligence. To say that I am proud of him is an understatement. More precisely, I admire and respect his intellect, his work ethic, and his character. Mr. Dubose's graduating Summa Cum Laude is proof of his distinct scholarship. Indeed, he earned this honor (while working at a demanding internship) with grades that even many professors cannot boast of in their undergraduate records. Yet even with this typifying accomplishment, Mr. DuBose is humble, respectful, and polite (I note that he addresses me with "Sir"). At the same time, our one-on-one career coaching sessions have revealed a young man who has a cogent understanding of academic-professional goals. When Mr. DuBose attended the fall 2018 career fair, I was not surprised, therefore, to observe his exuding the model of professionalism,--both in attire and in presentation. No wonder I have heard only the most positive, "glowing" comments about Mr. DuBose from both faculty and students. Both his former professors and his peers hold him in high esteem, too, and I am sure that a graduate program or future employer would do likewise. I stand ready to witness his future success; I hope that I have the additional honor of working with him again.
