This job was an intense learning experience every time, as any one factor could change in an instant. While there was basic knowledge one would accumulate over time (like procedures and standards), they were applied differently at every job. I learned a myriad of skills in the process, such as dealing with tricky clients and insurance companies, the proper ways to box things, how to safely operate a scissor lift and other machines, how to safely demo a whole building, etc. I also improved my ability to think on my feet, found within myself a level of determination and grit I didn't know I possessed, improved how I work in teams, the list goes on. Here is a sample: o Helped asses and secure fire, water, mold, and sewage-damaged homes and housing units o Performed a variety of tasks related to sorting, storing, moving, and cleaning content efficiently and conscientiously o Utilized hand tools and power tools for demolition of walls, ceilings, floors and subfloors o Entrusted with leading small groups, managing paperwork and performing high-risk, detail- oriented tasks on site o Ran heavy equipment (Scissor Lifts) and safely used harsh chemicals for cleaning and treatment o Interacted with clients on-site to ensure clear communication of processes and to insure wellbeing Show less

Burien, Washington This was my first ever job. It was intimidating at first because we had to serve 3 courses and drinks as well as cleaning the dining area all within a time frame of about 2-odd hours. We had to memorize up to 6 orders at a time in order to seem "more professional", and often had to fetch various additions or alterations to a meal on our own. It was quite the task as a high-school Junior, but I loved serving the old people and having the opportunity to give them a genuine smile. Some of my best… Show more This was my first ever job. It was quite the task as a high-school Junior, but I loved serving the old people and having the opportunity to give them a genuine smile. Some of my best work-related memories will forever rest within those walls. Example of tasks: o Served four courses in under 2 hours to a standard of both speed and accuracy o Memorized up to six orders at a time, relaying the main part to the chef and preparing special orders alone o Cleaned up and properly reset tables for the next day to a professional standard Show less
