I continue my work at TRAINOSE S.A. as an IT Consultant under the new management. Most recent milestones:- Q1,Q2 2019: I did a major upgrade to my 2014-era software that recorded train driver and conductor work shifts. The new software is utilised for work shift planning, recording of actual shifts, payroll calculations and reporting.- June 2018: we are giving handheld devices to our train conductors to do their work through them. I designed this project back in 2011 and it has passed through several phases and re-designs since then and now is the time it's for real- May 2018: a new type of IATA-based paper ticket went into circulation, based on the CIT 2012 security background. I wrote the specs for this- Sept 2017: rolled out the implementation of an IRT ticketing solution in our systems. This involved a new fare calculation algorithm and management platform that I wrote, as well as the entire train and trip management schemas- Spring 2017: a new type of IATA-based paper ticket went into circulation, based on the CIT 2006 security background. We built TRAINOSE's entire IT services and infrastructures from nonexistence and we grought novel and low cost solutions to critical company infrastructures using commodity solutions while ensuring operational completeness, ease of use and high levels of security.I basically designed and built the vast majority of the company's core business software (ticketing applications for the public and our issuing desks, train management, fare management, traffic management, incident management, fare costing algorithm and many many more) and coordinated other developers in developing what became over the years a mini railway-oriented ERP.My duties at TRAINOSE included:- designing, implementing, supporting and coordinating the implementation of our IT services and infrastructures, internal and external (leader and active developer in our small team of software engineers)- designing, implementing and maintaining our e-ticketing site, tickets.trainose.gr- providing insight to the high level management on how to structure, implement and roll out new services and processes and improve existing ones- managing day to day operational matters related to our country-wide ticket sales network and providing high-level support- coordinating the efforts towards establishing a branding in our customer-facing services Show less

My work involved creating mostly web-based tools for the areas of operation are transportation & logistics, civil protection, crisis management and industrial optimization. I developed a suite of web applications for civil protection management that ran on two Regional Command Centers: crisis management, event logging and followup, resource inventory, discovery, coordination and tracking. I also developed a fully integrated solution for vehicle tracking and coordination back in 2007-8 (that was before smartphones, tablets and navigators were common), both the on-device client and the backend.
