Undergraduate Research Scholar

Dec 2022 - Present
To continue my investigative work on FASDs, I have been performing imaging analyses of P0 coronal sections of the somatosensory cortex from PAE-mice and an Alzheimer's model to investigate the impact of prenatal alcohol exposure on the earlier onset and risk of Alzheimer's Disease. The current focus of the research project has consisted of an extensive imaging analysis of slices stained with Tbr1/Cux-1, using ImageJ for fluorescence intensity and to observe the distribution of the Tbr1 hallmark antibody in layer V and VI of the somatosensory cortex. James O. Freedman Presidential Scholar
-
Mar 2022 - Nov 2022
Awarded the James O. Freedman Presidential Scholarship to perform two consecutive terms of research at the Yeh Lab. Continued my analysis of prenatal alcohol's exposure on the striatum. Conducted an extensive Independent Study in the Fall of 2022 which culminated in an extensive literature review on the detrimental effects of prenatal alcohol exposure on the development of the striatum's main neuronal population- the medium spiny neurons (MSN)- as measured through CTIP2 fluorescence intensity. Presented a paper summarizing my findings at Dartmouth's annual Karen E. Wetterhahn Science Symposium. Show less
