      This is a direct apprenticeship under Professor Aki Takahashi. Throughout the experience I directly worked on all aspects of the research process. This includes, but is not limited to: experiment design, animal (mouse) handling (in caring, experimentation, and euthanasia), data coding, video analysis, paper writing, and presentation preparation. Also participation in weekly meetings with professors and graduate students in Japanese and English. Projects:1. Investigation of Sensory Modality Differences in Social Instigation Heightened Aggression Assistance with experimental execution, data analysis, and presentation at an annual conference.2. Relation between microbiome and aggressive behavior in male mice. Assistance with experiment execution including, but not limited to, primary manipulator, animal care data collection, data coding, data entry, data analysis, surgical procedures, and writing. 3. Development of Estrogen Receptor alpha and beta in male and female mice. Assistant to PhD student's thesis. Operated fluorescent microscope to take pictures of brain slices. 4. The Effects of Maternal Separation and Maternal Stress on the Emotionality of C57BL/6N Male Mice Undergraduate Honor's Thesis which attempts to better an animal model of early life stress and future implications. Full responsibility of experimental design, execution, multiple test batteries, surgical procedures, writing, presentation, and defense.

As Captain, my roles were to facilitate English conversation between myself and 5-6 Japanese middle school children with limited to no exposure to daily English Usage. As Sub-Chief my roles were to facilitate conversation between children and captains, while making sure the itinerary over the camp days ran smoothly. I also had to communicate between Japanese Staff and Foreign Captains, acting as a counselor as well as a translator.
