It is appropriate that my current role is also my most demanding. I am delighted to be able to play such a pivotal role within this business. Fulfilling my role of Marketing Director requires me to have an active involvement with all areas of the business - FP Surveying - FP Mortgages and FP Wealth. I am fully responsible for the delivery of marketing strategies that support the group's development and growth. My achievements to date have earned me a place on the board of which I am very proud. The landscape ahead for the Financial Services industry is a challenging one where our customers have a greater choice of provider than ever before. Technology will make it easier than ever for a customer to arrange their own mortgage and we need to rival this temptation with a level of service never seen before. Show less

A challenging position where we are constantly looking at ways to improve the consumer journey when arranging survey products. Remembering at all times that the customer comes first, we have built a system that makes booking your next survey as simple as possible. Greatest achievement to date was the development and launch of a stand-alone product which now ranks number one on Google 'Help to Buy Valuation'. I then went on to develop a secure online payment facility which generates daily sales. Show less

Protecting your income has never been more important if you actively participate in any activity that comes with a degree of risk. As a keen motorcyclist and Dad, I recognise the importance of protecting my income should my ability to work be affected by an accident. Using my niche marketing skills, I have developed a proposition that is aimed at my fellow motorcyclists with the view of protecting their income if the worst should happen. • Director of Sales and Marketing
      • Dec 2012 - Jan 2017

During this period I enjoyed a role that enabled me to build relationships with national house builders and provide mortgage services to a number of key developments. I was able to assist developers to understand how to market the newly introduced concept of 'Shared Equity'. I developed an excellent understanding of the new build market and constantly looked for ways to make the broker/developer relationship seamless. New Homes Mortgages also serviced the back book of retention business generated by Chatsworth Klein. Show less

Adopting strict business principles that have seen the business survive through an increasingly tough market. Our ability to make fast well thought out decisions is critical in order to survive and thrive in these current market conditions. Implementing a series of changes to the business in order to stay ahead of our customer's requirements. Our plans are to develop a robust online presence backed up with a fee-based advice service. I am confident that as the market turns there will be plenty of opportunities for those who are in a position to deliver excellent customer service with a lean and sustainable cost base. Show less

Management, Marketing, Strategy & Planning. My role was to develop new brand and coporate ID's and implement successful communication channels on both a B2B and B2C basis. The short time that I spent at Venus enabled me to get involved in markets that expanded my experience of marketing through a number of industries and markets. One of my more interesting duties was to prepare the marketing plan for our construction bid for the 2012 Olympics which involved working closely with the ODA. Show less

The story What started as near redundancy (The Woolwich didn't need EA trainers after selling the Estate Agency ) resulted in the role of Head of Marketing for Europe's Largest Independent Estate Agents. A conversation that started as an exit interview ended with an appointment. To his credit Paul Smith took the time to ask me what I am good at and enjoy doing. This gave me an opportunity that was previously not available to someone who didn't work in London. Spicerhaart allowed me to use my marketing and design education and became the platform from which I would develop my career. Only recently surpassed by my current role at Finance Planning, this position enabled me to shape some of today's leading High Street Estate Agency brands. Spicer McColl haart Felicity J Lord Darlows Mortgages Direct (now Just Mortgages) Woltons/Valunation My roles and responsibilities included all aspects of how the group communicated with its clients. I was lucky enough to work on each phase of web development and online communication which resulted in a web presence that enjoyed in excess of 1m hits per month. In 2018, this may not sound like much but at a time when we didn't have an internet site at all, we were pretty pleased. I learnt about innovation and forward thinking at Spicerhaart and this hasn't left me. It is also an attribute that I carry with me knowing that where technology and business are concerned, change is a constant. I also played a major part in the implementation of email and the adoption of electronic communications between a network of 220 branches. In fact, training out the implementation of email is something I look back at with some pride. Reporting directly to the MD and CEO, this was a very challenging and enjoyable position. The End I mentioned earlier the London connection to marketing. After taking the role as far as I could go, I was offered a position in the City of Marketing Director which represented progression. • Senior Financial Adviser
      • Apr 1992 - Aug 1996

The StoryAfter a whistlestop induction which included all three exams, I took my first steps into Financial Services within an Estate Agency. It wasn't long before the Woolwich also had me fully qualified to advise on Pensions and Unit Trusts even though it's distribution via homebuyers was somewhat questionable. I thrived in the sales environment of the Estate Agency and this has never left me. However, the Woolwich owned Woolwich Property Services in order to write mortgages which meant that when I wasn't busy, I was down my local Building Society advising on ISA's...The EndI took a promotion to Training Manager with a view of taking the next step to Area Management.
