Bio
Lisan van der Wal
Katrina has been volunteering for the international NGO Pintar en Bolivia (located in Cochabamba) as a graphic designer, artist and artistic workshop provider. In her role as graphic designer she has absolutely delivered a huge amount of amazingly good work in just a short time. When Katrina arrived, we barely had anything professional regarding visual designs. Katrina designed logos, style guides, banners, postcards, business cards, invitations, layouts, and so much more. During her work period with us, I have let Katrina work very freely. She was able to come up with ideas and her own designs. Quickly, I could see she is full of creative ideas. The fact that is also an artist and illustrator makes her designs very unique and special. The quality of what she delivers is always high. She is extremely good in this and I wish she could have stayed with us for much longer. The visual identity of the NGO has grown a lot. We are forever grateful for Katrina’s help in this. I have got to know Katrina as an extremely committed, respectful, friendly and overall great person. She works very hard and very efficiently. The amount of work she produced in only 3 months is incredible. Also, notable to mention, is that she left her work organized and well-structured in Canva. Now, new designers or other volunteers can work while following the style guides and explanation documents she created. Very professional how she did this. During her 3 months stay with us, she also helped out in our mural painting project ‘Inclusion’ in which she worked within the community of Cochabamba. She has shown that she adapts easily to different and new cultures. She also organized a coloring book workshop for a group of 25 children, most of which have suffered from severe burn accidents. The workshop was a great success and Katrina showed she is capable of integrating art therapy exercises. Katrina still helps us out when we need extra help. For an NGO, this means a lot.

Katrina is kind, conscientious, creative, and brave. She adds life and laughter and inspiration to any project she is a part of. We worked together for about a year and a half at Masterworks and I recommend you buy her art and hire her for any design/illustration needs you have.
