★Mission: SAFV provides empowerment-based safety and advocacy services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence while promoting a community of nonviolence and respect. ●Project Goal: Increase domestic violence (DV), sexual assault (SA) and teen dating violence (TDV) primary prevention capacity in Sitka and the outlying communities of Kake and Angoon by expanding school and community based prevention programs to include men and boys, parents, and community members in the conversations around promoting healthy relationships and respect in order to help end the cycle of domestic violence related poverty. ●Objectives: 1) Build capacity for male engagement primary prevention strategies in the school and community settings that work to shift existing norms around masculinity and violence against women. 2) Build capacity for parent engagement primary prevention strategies to broaden the reach and scope of healthy relationships messaging into the home setting. 3) Work with the School Program Coordinator to expand healthy relationships curricula to schools in the outlying communities of Kake and Angoon. 4) Expand communication channels to further reach and scope of healthy relationships messaging and prevention strategies into the community setting.
