Angela is a motivated leader at Glendale Community College. Under her leadership as the Department Chair in Technology and Consumer Sciences, I have been inspired to strengthen my skills in leading in guiding the adjunct faculty in Child and Family Studies. She leads by example; Angela creates momentum to inspire others to stretch beyond their comfort zone. In the Fall of 2021, she encouraged me to participate in Reimagine Teaching and Learning through the Center for Teaching, Learning and Engagement at GCC. Over the past three years, Angela mentored and guided my colleagues and myself as we sought Higher Education Accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This was an arduous process, but we were awarded the accreditation on September 30, 2022. It was through Angela's unwavering support and advocacy that the team was able to persist through the hardships and persevere.

Having worked for 6 different Department Chairs in this department, I can acknowledge that Angela has been and is one of the top Department Chairs. Given Angela came to the position with private industry management skills, she has learned and grown into the type of manager/department chair needed to handle operations in the public sector. This is not an easy transition, she has grown into one of the better Department Chairs.
