Managed a team of epidemiologists, nurses, and communicable disease investigators to conduct infectious disease case investigations for over 2,000 disease referrals of 118 reportable conditions and pathogens.Oversaw case management efforts of tuberculosis clinic nurses/physicians and food-borne illness (shiga toxin-producing e.coli, salmonella, listeria) outbreak network staff at MDHHS.Coordinated outbreak responses with community partners and businesses to initiate rapid point of care efforts and infection control measures, including the first domestic animal rabies case in Detroit in over 10 years. Achieved and exceeded state funding metrics for Hepatitis C Linkage to Care program patient navigation efforts.Trained 28 new laboratory, hospital, and infection prevention control staff on reporting requirements for public health surveillance.Effectively and efficiently managed the allocation of two program budgets of over $550,000.Established innovative community outreach programs to mitigate the spread of disease in Detroit by:- Procuring and distributing 130 HEPA filtration systems to over 20 community service organizations in Detroit for COVID-19 prevention through improving ventilation- Purchasing and creating the clinical protocol to deliver rabies pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis to animal care and control staff, partners, and community members.Participated in the hiring process of COVID-19 emergency response, epidemiology, and communicable disease team employees to build up organizational capacity to respond to disease outbreaks during a time of high staff turnover.
