As an Educational Consultant, I helped high school students who were in the dual-credit program (obtaining both college and high school credits) discover their natural talents and suggest possible career/educational paths. I administered the TypeFocus (Myers-Briggs personality assessment tool) and facilitated a workshop to demonstrate the different personality types, discussed communication styles and the importance of being self-aware. I worked with over 90 students 1:1 to create a strategy to overcome barriers and select a career path that suit their skills and interests.

During my co-op term, I assisted revamping the Co-op Preparation course curriculum, creating worksheets, assignments, infographics, and more. This hybrid (in-person and online) course helped first-year students prepare for employment, including how to prepare a resume and job search strategies. Additionally, I facilitated a focus group to gather information on the experiences of 2nd and 3rd years students who completed the prep course. The information gathered helped us understand the student experience and address and learning gaps.One of my favorite projects to work on was planning a networking event for computer studies students. We invited 10 local employers for a speed networking event to provide insight into their organizations and the industry as a whole.

The Peer Mentor program helped ease the transition of starting post-secondary. First-year students would be matched with 2nd and 3rd-year students to help them get acquainted to college by live providing tips on navigating blackboard, providing study tips, informing students on various services on campus and which social events to check out. Accomplishments:+ Spearheaded all recruitment efforts, increasing the number of volunteers by 250% within my first term.+ Developed and facilitated a 3-hour training session for over 100 new mentors, to provide knowledge on Georgian's services, how to create boundaries with mentees and more.
