Research Topic: Dewetting Studies on Polystyrene based conjugated blends Polystyrene is a very common material that we use in our day to day living. It consists of styrene monomers attached covalently and has well-defined and uncomplicated physical and chemical properties. Commercially, it is available in a wide range of molecular weights and Poly-Dispersity-Indices (PDI). However, these polymers have rather strange and intriguing observations when blended with other polymers in thin films. Studying the properties of such blends using a technique like 'Dewetting' is a proven platform to understand its visco-elastic behaviour and its micro-rheology. My goal is to realize the symmetry breaking and confinement levels of the blend consisting of poly[2-methoxy-5-(2’-ethylhexyloxy)-p-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV) and atactic polystyrene by optimizing various parameters involved in its synthesis, treatment, and analysis thereby, leading to enhanced and tailored bulk mechanical properties. Thesis Topic: Vanadium Oxide-based composites for Thermistor and Bolometer Applications Copper Selenide and Graphite were used with Vanadium Pentoxide as a composite to study its temperature-related resistance properties and use it as a template for its potential application in the area of temperature-dependent sensors. Synthesis of the composites was performed using a variety of techniques ranging from solid-state methods to solvothermal and Sol-Gel methods. The focus was to reduce the resistivity at room temperature in order to widen the scope of its usage. As an outcome of this research, two poster presentations were made at reputed International material science conferences and therafter published by AIP proceedings. Show less

I was involved in a project where the concentration of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood was determined after studying its absorption spectra by using just a few microlitres of blood sample. This work opened doors for new ideas for enhanced blood concentration measurement in labs and hospitals.
