  At BCH, I conduct psychiatric intake evaluations of patients in the hospital emergency department. I assess, diagnose, and make recommendations for patients based on clinical presentation. I then present clinical data of clients to the on-call psychiatrist to determine whether or not the patient meets criteria for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Additionally, I contact insurance companies and attain pre-authorizations for patients who are hospitalized. I conduct billing for psychiatric evaluations that have been completed.
