      Newcomer Services is an exciting department at the Calgary Public Library. Since we began working with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in 2011, we have emerged as an important community provider of resources and services to Calgary's newcomers and English language learning communities. We collaborate with other immigrant-serving agencies in the city to provide settlement services and related programs. Our growing list of ESL/ELL programs include:- ESL Conversation Club - ESL Writing Club- ESL Coffee and Conversation- ESL Dual Language Storytime- ELL School Success- ELL Families Read TogetherOur programs offer much more than just a place for individuals and families to practice their skills. Whether it is a volunteer or staff facilitated program, we provide productive spaces for newcomers and learners to gain more information about their new home and to develop their social networks.As the Newcomer Services Library Experience Facilitator, I am responsible for: - Onboarding, training, and supervising 150+ adult ESL Conversation Club program volunteers across 17 libraries; recruit approximately 40 volunteers a year- Coordinating, facilitating, and training staff to deliver ESL Coffee and Conversation at 7 libraries- Liaising with 5 partner organizations to arrange for 60+ workshops a year- Developing and presenting customized presentations to a variety of audiences including educators, service providers, and learners- Scheduling and leading library tours for learners of varying language skills- Engaging in large-scale community outreach and relationship building with newcomers and service providers- Ensuring the collection of statistics and following the confidentiality guidelines set out by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
