The Mayor's Youth Employment and Education Program is one of the largest youth employment program in San Francisco providing high school youth with supportive employment opportunities. As Associate Director I led and oversaw the implementation of this city wide collaborative across 10 neighborhood nonprofit agencies to annually serve 1,300 youth. Jewish Vocational Service helps people, particularly those with barriers to employment, acquire the skills and resources to find and keep meaningful employment and progress towards the goal of self-sufficiency. The goal of the Foundation's tropical forest carbon strategy is to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation by 2 GtCO2e per year by 2030. We seek to achieve this goal by supporting the efforts of governments and NGOs to create conditions for an effective international mechanism for "Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation" (REDD). My role was to provide associate level subprogram support to the conservation and science program director and the tropical forest carbon strategy senior advisor. I was responsible for preparing grant recommendations and monitoring grants for legal/program compliance. I successfully administered over 60 grants this year, while monitoring the annual awards budget for 3 subprograms. Show less

Fair Trade Certification empowers farmers and farm workers to lift themselves out of poverty by investing in their farms and communities, protecting the environment, and developing the business skills necessary to compete in the global marketplace. I collected and audited transactions between US companies offering Fair Trade Certified™ products and the international suppliers from whom they source. This guarantees the customer that the farmers and farm workers behind Fair Trade Certified™ goods were paid a fair, above-market price.
