Cloud Computing, Data Mining, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Large Scale Distributed Systems Research Activities: Application of blockchain, smart contracts, big data analytics and IoT in the area of logistics and supplychain. I have been keenly following the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) activities. I have served as president of CSA Pakistan Chapter. I have carried out research on applying Cloud Control Matrix (CCM) on various phases of Software Development Life Cycle thus proposing methodologies for Secure Software Development. We have also proposed a method to construct SLA based security metrics based on CCM. I have worked on traffic congestion prediction and traffic flow management and traffic business intelligence systems working on Open Street Maps, Python, and SUMO.

My PhD Thesis: "A Framework for SLA-Centric Service Oriented Utility Computing" was accomplished with distinction i.e with highest grades under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Erich Schikuta. The expert advice of Prof. Harold Boley (NRC Canada) and Prof. Adrian Paschke (Frei Universitat Berlin, Germany) proved to be invaluable during the implementation phase. I was fortunate to have Prof. Amin Tjoa as my external evaluator for the PhD defence. The research work proposes a layered model for SLA-based service management in Cloud Systems. Starting from user-directed service selection and negotiation for automated workflow generation, it introduces notions such as SLA Choreography, SLA Aggregation, Hierarchical SLA value chains, SLA validation and hybrid trust models based on reputation and PKI based trust schemas. The POC implementations utilize heuristic and branch and bound algorithms plugged within rule based multi agent systems. Rule Responder, Mule ESB, and Kepler workflow tool are some of the key technologies employed. The proposed system is expected to play an important role for planning and designing of the OPEX centered Cloud-based enterprise solutions.
