Selected to take over creation and commissioning of Schlumberger’s first geomechanics laboratory in Canada. During tenure successfully directed build and renovation of additional laboratory facilities, including sample preparation room and HVAC, high-resolution and UV photography, and expanded office space and furniture procurement. • Effectively oversaw the setup and commissioning of a geomechanics laboratory operation, including a 20,000ksi Triaxial load-frame, and Philips Computerized Tomography (CT) scanner, along with numerous ancillary equipment, within nine months of project inception. • Executed first successful geomechanics project of Calgary laboratory for a major client in advance of concurrent work being done at flagship facility. • After being exposed to the complexities of rock analysis instrumentation, educated myself with a working knowledge of the science behind the equipment (e.g. anisotropic rock properties), as well as that of laboratory testing systems that rely on hydraulic pressure.
