I began assisting with production of the Sunday Sport show on LMFM (part of the UTV Group) in April 2013 on voluntary basis in order to broaden my media knowledge. A few short months later I was producing the show myself. This involves planning the show from beginning to end, accounting for every second over a three-hour period, lining up guest interviews, deciding which events to cover live, and getting interviews from live out on air in a prompt manner while ensuring that the presenter has everything he needs in terms of a running order and a brief for each guest along with a list of potential questions.Having produced several shows, I was then sent out to report on local matches in the Louth and Meath area. I now also cover Drogheda United's games for the station, sending in live updates throughout the evening of the game. Most recently I have begun presenting the flagship 3-hour Sunday Sport show occasionally when the need arises. I am also responsible for producing & reading the sports bulletins throughout the day. This is a very challenging and exciting role, and one which I am enjoying immensely.

Media & Communications Officer

Jun 2014 - Mar 2015
As Media & Communications Officer at Camara, I am responsible for all formal communication, both internally and externally. This involves a high level or organisation and planning, as all social media and press release output needs to be agreed upon in the week prior to publication. Planning around a big event like the Web Summit 2014 was also a big undertaking, with branding materials, messaging and a media plan all to be drawn up. This is something that I feel very comfortable with, even within the constraints of an NGO, where there is no budget for advertising. I am really enjoying making a difference in an organisation like Camara. My contract here will end in February 2015, at which time I will be looking for a long-term role in communications/PR.

I've contributed several articles to TheScore.ie in recent months. I will generally come up with an idea for a blog piece, which I will pitch to The Score. Of these, several have been published.Probably my favourite article was the one about high-school football. On a holiday to the US, I set up a meeting with the local high-school coach, who oversaw one of the most successful teams in the state of Virginia. After the interview, he invited me to stand on the touchline for the game the next night. It was a fantastic experience and one which is totally unique to the US.

I contributed articles on a range of musical subjects. Ramp is a Wordpress site, and everyone added and edited their own articles, so an intimate knowledge of Wordpress was essential. Having used it before on my own blog site, it wasn't a problem. I contributed articles on a range of musical subjects. Having entered a competition run by RTÉ.ie which encouraged fans to contribute championship match reports, I enquired about gaining some experience in RTÉ. That resulted in me spending several weekends in the publishing department at Montrose, where I updated the website with minute-by-minute details of the 2007 All-Ireland final. I was also responsible for updating Aertel. During this time I also contributed several opinion pieces.
