I have had the pleasure of working directly with Maria during her time as an Acquisition Management and Mobile Application Development Intern at Minorities to Majorities, LLC, and her tremendous abilities never cease to amaze me. Maria is a diligent worker and has demonstrated the unique ability to successfully work with our early-stage start-up team, independently and with little to no guidance. Due to Maria's effectiveness and interests in information problems, she has been given additional responsibilities at our company, including spearheading our mobile application re-development team. In this role, she has been able to effectively research, design and implement usability testing in order to understand the needs of our app users, quantify important features and direct technical development. Maria has gone above and beyond her required tasks in this assignment, using creativity and strategy to obtain more accurate data from an increased number of users. She is genuinely excited about data and information sciences which has been critical to our learning and strategizing as a company. Furthermore, Maria's positive attitude and upbeat energy has continually brought a sense of excitement and joy to our team.

As a UX Researcher at End to End, I led and organized projects from start to finish, beginning with the identification of project goals, creating test plans, moderating sessions, and finishing with data analysis and results/recommendations. I had the opportunity to work with teams of all sizes, and with a variety of different focuses. Through those opportunities I gained experience testing concepts, prototypes, hardware, and software. My responsibilities at the Haven included conducting contextual inquiries, monitoring usability tests, and developing and hosting a training workshop. My team and I worked with Haven employees and the organization's client registration system to analyze the gap between the intended and actual use of the system. Upon completing our research and identifying areas for improvement, we developed a training program based on these findings. As a sales manager I spent 20 hours a week in the Daily Collegian office, and was responsible for assisting account executives in their daily routines. I cold called potential clients regularly, and worked with clients to find resolutions to any grievances. To maintain an organized work environment I utilized a database system which contained information relating to rates and revenue, client history, and paper content.

My responsibility as an account executive was to uphold professional relationships with local clients in the State College area. Relationships were maintained through regular visits, phone calls, or communication via e-mail. During a normal work week I would assist clients in the process of inserting advertisements with the Daily Collegian, cold call potential clients, and meet daily deadlines.

As an intern for the Psyma Group I created presentations that transformed quantitative data into a qualitative deliverable that clients could understand at a glance. I assisted in translating Psyma PowerPoints from German to American English, and transformed market research results into code that contributed to the overall maintenance of large amounts of data.
