My current role within EBDS involves performing comprehensive chart reviews of the 800+ participants enrolled in our study. We must strictly maintain the integrity and confidentiality of our data in order to protect our participants and stay in-line with IRB standards. My previous role in EBDS consisted of masking MRI scans of the brain via ITK-SNAP. While in this role, I was able to begin an independent research project that involved analyzing the relationship between fetal and neonatal lateral ventricle size (volume and diameter) and later outcomes on behavioral assessments related to ADHD. I plan on expanding my analysis in the future and achieving publication. Show less

Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States The TEACH Initiative is a student-led organization of UNC undergraduates dedicated to educating local high schoolers about mental health and substance use. Specifically, TEACH focuses on a harm reduction approach to substance use education, emphasizing the biological basis of addiction rather than designating it as a moral failing or character flaw. The curriculum focuses particularly on opioids, methamphetamine, benzodiazepines, and cocaine.

UNC Department of Psychology and Neuroscience PRL is interested in studying peer relationships and psychological adjustment between early childhood and adolescence. For instance, the relationship between teenage social media use, depression and anxiety outcomes, and maladaptive behaviors such as suicidality is an area of research investigated during my time in the lab. My tasks in PRL primarily involved conducting field research (e.g., surveying students and data organization).
