I am the Chief of Staff at LiveIntent (I promise! It's a real thing!) I develop strategies, execute on plans, help to articulate our positions and offerings, and work behind the scenes to make our company more efficient, smarter, and tolerant of puns in otherwise tense meetings.I act as a translation layer to Executive vision, and help develop ideas from germination stage to triaged process to areas of focus that are up and running, ready to be enveloped by larger existing departments. I'm fully verse across the worlds of martech and adtech, and as work hard to develop and refine the strategies that let LiveIntent sit at the intersection of them. Show less

    • VP Corporate Communications
      • Aug 2014 - Mar 2017

I was the VP of Corporate Communications. What does that mean? Anything you want it to! In truth, at a high-level, I was tasked with helping the company tell its story to its constituents. At the onset of my position, that constituency was chiefly the press. We came up with a strategy to supplement our ubiquity in the press by providing editorials and op-eds to our industry publications that helped us be part of the conversation about the shortcomings and promises of Marketing Technology in the modern era. As our company has matured to over 200 people in 4 countries, so did my position. I continued to help tell our story in the media, but also ensured that disparate initiatives, far beyond the realm of "communications", were seen to fruition, and that we maintained the level of excellence that's taken us so far. I'm proud that we've created an environment of clear communication, internally and externally, that represents the best in the industry. That's a lot of buzzwords. I helped write documents, articles, and plans on behalf of leadership here and ensured that different programs we have run smoothly by being a tyrant when it comes to organization, mission, and agenda.I also make jokes, often politely smiled at by my coworkers! My skill at this PR and Marketing Agency was chiefly within the confines of Media Relations. I specialized in taking a company beyond its given vertical: I drove cloud computing into lifestyle sections, and I engineered independent musicians into the tech blogs. I am fully committed to the institution of journalism and do my best to help journalists tell an interesting story, with a minimal amount of spin. I worked to develop our clients' content strategy, messaging, data insight and media relations to help companies and individuals tell the story of who they are and develop new business and better customers. I also spent a lot of time at the snack machine. Show less

Essentially, I dove into the nuances of PR in the modern era by working for the governing body of the industry and created engagement strategies on social media to coalesce disparate chapters. In this position, I drafted internal and external communications for on behalf of the department and the administration. I acted as the liaison between faculty who teach in the Department for Design, Digital Arts, and Film and the University. I advised students on their academic options and managed communications for the faculty. I also worked directly for the Dean and there helped draft correspondence for tasks both banal and crisis-driven.I also got a free graduate degree and countless non-credit classes for cheap by working at an administrative position for a few years! NYU, rather surprisingly, had no web presence for students to speak of. The student sites were paltry, the hosting services antiquated, and no functionality built in for blogging or organizing using Web 2.0 technology. I decided to take the initiative and learn by jumping in. · Initiated the creation of a Web presence for the NYU public relations and corporate communications master*s program

I managed a small Brooklyn venue's social media presence on the side in order to give myself more experience in the Public Relations realm. I merged Facebook pages, standardized Yelp presence, initiated foursquare rewards, and all in all, believe I played a role in getting such wild traffic through the door that the police raided the venue, discovering that a liquor license never existed (to my utter shock.) I've gotten hits in the WSJ, NYT, USA Today, the Economist but, still, my favorite placement ever may be the Police Blotter (Publicity that I did for an event created lines around the block, and the police came. Turns out, the venue did not have a liquor license at that time. Great media coverage!) Show less

Organizing for America is is the grassroots organization that supports President Obama's agenda for change. I created a 2.0 press list for each congressional district, finding media sites for the campaign to reach out to. Researched each media resource using twitter, google, and emerging search engines. Outlined best pitch method (twitter, facebook, etc.) for each outlet as well as relevant posts so representatives from campaign could make quick pitches that appealed and worked. I also maintained back-end support for running relevant volunteer reports and information using campaign software, prepared and edited various blog posts and facebook entries for the campaign.
