Our unit, consisting of 5 teams, is responsible for the development and management of the development street for all NS IT components: TOPAAS. We facilitate all teams depending and building on it, with collaboration, development and continuous delivery tooling. We work according to the "you build it, you run it, you love it" paradigm and therefore embrace DevOps; thus servicing around 3000 developers within the organisation. We use Scrum & Kanban in the teams and SAFe in de wider organisation. After working in software development for many years, I took a break and lived and worked in a Zen Monastery for almost 2 years. It was intense, exciting and inspiring; an entirely different environment. I founded a meditation group, en prepared and hosted meditation lessons weekly. I have learned so many things during this period, it truly was a very special time and I am grateful that I had the possibility to experience this.
