Charles Reader embraces a very bright and positive work ethic. He successfully managed the HR aspect of LEWIS which included Boston, DC, San Diego, and San Francisco. He also worked closely with LEWIS HQ based out of London. He was very committed to being the Vice President of Human Resources and such fierce passion for his team. He was the main artery that kept the heartbeat of Lewis pumping. Alas, Charles is an asset to any company. He is a true gem. I am fortunate enough to have worked with such greatness.

Charles ability to balance compassion and logic makes him a unicorn in the HR field, in my opinion. He's easy to work with, and talk with in all manners of the employment cycle, and doesn't look at every discussion as a potential "complaint" to be filed. Where I used to avoid HR, I found myself turning to Charles for guidance on several occasions. He's extremely strategic in his approach, considering impacts at all levels of leadership and staffing, but never shies away from diving into day-to-day needs, when the time calls or it. His staff deeply respect him, and look to him for leadership. I felt that I also grew from my encounters with Charles despite not working directly on his team, and appreciated his often creative approaches to problem solving and conflict resolution both for me personally or in advising with me around issues my staff might have been having.

When you join a fast-growth company that changes and evolves on what feels like a weekly basis - what with acquiring other companies, opening new offices, integrating teams nationally and globally, and dealing with your typical, everyday people and recruiting challenges - no one would blame you for getting overwhelmed or not knowing where to begin. But not Charles, that's where he thrives - in the thick of it with a laundry list of challenges to tackle! Charles is one of those HR strategists who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty on the day-to-day workings of the organization. He stays coolheaded and pragmatic when dealing with stakeholders and team leads, he makes HR best practice easy to understand and implement, is collaborative while providing sound counsel, and always brings creative ideas on organization, development and training to the table. It obvious that he has a passion for the HR profession, cares about people and gives 100% everyday. You can rest assured that your HR issues will be handles deftly, so you can focus on your team, clients and customers!
