For this work, I utilized a chemical ionization mass spectrometry coupled to custom designed flow reactors, and compared the results with box model outputs and co-located measurements to further understand the findings. Additionally I acquired skills in oxidation chemistry, LabVIEW, Matlab programming, and Igor. I frequently used aerosol sizing instruments (scanning particle mobility sizer, aerodynamic particle sizer, Ultra-High Sensitivity Aerosol Spectrometer), and gas phase monitoring instruments to measure ambient levels of ozone and nitrogen oxides. I was responsible for the critical analysis of my data and presenting the data to the scientific community at numerous conferences, to the public at outreach events and to government agencies. Further, I was responsible for planning, executing, and managing numerous research projects involving groups of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, ensuring that as a team we met the project objectives by the established deadline. Oct 2008 - Apr 2009
--Overview: Responsible for analyzing water, soil, and air samples via GC/MS to determine compliance with EPA standard regulations by assigned deadlines. To maintain the GC/MS I performed daily instrumental calibrations and frequent sample dilutions to ensure analyte intensities remained below the saturation limit of the GC/MS detector. -- Skills: GC/MS, LIMS databank system
