his is a large private hospital encountering both inpatient and outpatient flows. The hospital is highly regarded for its holistic approach to cancer treatment and their dedication to provide its patients with evidence-based practice through research. At this site, I aimed to further develop my basic Radiographic skills in accordance with staff education, support and supervision. Where possible I took initiative, accountability and responsibility for venturing into other modalities such as- DSA, Operation theatre, mobile imaging, US, CT and MRI Show less

Small private clinic whereby I engaged with a lot of outpatients presenting to the clinic investigating for digestive and urinary tract problems or query fractures. At this site, I acquired skills to perform CT scans. With the onset of COVID-19 at the time and the rapidly changing landscape of the workplace, I got a real focus and grounding on the use of PPE and other infection control procedures. The Avenue Hospital is a medical and surgical private hospital. A lot of the work involved- orthopaedic patients undergoing joint replacement surgeries and people with sports injuries and Bariatric surgeries. At this site, I got to be part of a multi-disciplinary team in more complex settings – such as ICUs for mobile imaging and people undergoing theatre procedures. A lot of the inpatients post surgeries presented to the x-ray department in wheelchairs and trolley’s which made me adapt my imaging techniques. With a fair share of Bariatric patients, I independently performed a range of fluoroscopic procedures including assessment of gastric sleeve and gastric balloons. Show less

This was a small private clinic in WA located within a health and community centre. I performed general x-ray work for a lot of outpatients living in the community. This placement for me was more about growing my skills for patient communication and imaging technique, particularly for spines. This was a large private hospital reputable for work in Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, Pain Management and Oncology. As a first-year student, I played more of an observatory role and performed imaging for extremities only. The staff there assisted me in improving my anatomical understanding.
