As we study 10,000 years of world history, I teach students to analyze cause & effect, similarities & differences, and changes & continuities as we explore historical events and trends around the world. I also help students evaluate and use primary and secondary sources, and I guide them as they hone their historical writing skills.

As a community member on the Plain Dealer / Cleveland.com Editorial Board, I collaborate with other Editorial Board members to clarify and express the Board's position on issues and events that affect Northeast Ohio. I contribute weekly to the Editorial Board Roundtable which appears online at Cleveland.com and in print on Saturdays. Additionally, I have had two op-eds published online at Cleveland.com and in the Forum section of the Sunday Plain Dealer (links below). In May 2020, one of my Roundtable responses was quoted by James Freeman in his WSJ Best of the Web column "Let Them Play" (link below).
