  A professional educator with over 30 years of experience teaching and teacher training in the Higher Education sector, believing that teachers themselves are the most powerful agents of change. I understand the key concepts, processes and models of contemporary education and am dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of effective teaching, learning and assessment to ensure student success. My research at Postgraduate and Doctoral level centres on the multicultural principles of learning and the personalisation of learning through fostering student agency, I am also recognised for my contribution to academic excellence in the field of mentoring, professional and academic development. Recently my interest in the use of technology to enhance learning helped SHMS/IHTTI successfully secure the Apple Distinguished School status, becoming the first hospitality school worldwide to achieve this award.
