It has been a pleasure to have Peter as a summer intern at SC agency here in Madrid. He helped us incredibly searching and writing an important report on "Health innovation in UK". He has a lot of valuable on-the-job skills which I'm sure will help him to find the best future job opportunities when he finished his studies at Oxford University.

The Up Group builds the leadership teams of the world's most innovative companies. We work with VC-backed startups, often making their first senior hires, and corporates undergoing a digital transformation to become properly equipped for the demands of the 21st century. Hired as the company's first Research Associate, I played a key part in defining the scope of the role itself, as well as helping to put in place a roadmap for the future after I left. During my time at Up, I worked closely with the company's Managing Director, providing vital briefings and research for client pitches, and the Marketing & Events team, helping to shape the company's events calendar, drive the push towards more regular content, and research new sectors and geographies. In addition to this, I also provided broader support to the search team, creating pitch documents, aiding with difficult searches, as well as more broadly disseminating knowledge to the organisation - either through a weekly news briefing delivered to the team, or organising talks from external speakers on topics as diverse as AI, company rebrands, and the dynamics of marketplace businesses. Over this fortnight-long Telethon campaign, I called alumni in order to maintain relations between them and Somerville College, and to persuade them to donate money to the Annual Fund. This was a record-breaking campaign, with over £300,000 being raised. I personally raised over £20,000 for the college, and was trusted with calling important people with large ask amounts, including MPs and Peers; the largest individual donation I received was €1000/year for 5 years, and I persuaded this particular alumna to start giving on an annual basis for the first time, which gives the college much more financial security and stability. Furthermore, I also worked to repair relations with disillusioned alumnae; one former student was disillusioned with the college and the University of Oxford for its refusal to grant Margaret Thatcher, herself a Somerville alumna, an honorary degree, and she informed me that she wanted nothing to do with the college. After speaking to her, however, and explaining some of the work that Somerville has done in Thatcher's name, she agreed to come into the college to have lunch, and relations between her and Somerville are now being repaired. During a two week internship at Salud y Communicación, a Spanish healthcare consultancy firm, I conducted an investigation into the state of innovation in healthcare technologies and inventions in the UK - specifically the mechanisms and structures in place to allow hospital staff to transform new and innovative ideas into tangible, saleable products. I produced a report in Spanish compiling my findings, in order to provide insights into systems and techniques that could be of use to companies seeking the services of Salud y Communicación. In summer 2014, I completed a two-month internship at ikiOra, a Spanish start-up in the burgeoning same-hour delivery economy. During my time at the months-old company, I completed a range of tasks for them, including analysing their competition, profiling potential customers, writing press notes, managing and updating the product database, and researching ex-pat communities in Madrid.
